When it comes to parking, Liverpool One shopping centre offers thousands of spaces across the city (three sites, 3,000 bays). You can pre-book, which is recommended as it’s cheaper than paying on the day.

The A55 in North Wales takes you along the coast to Anglesey, Llandudno or the top of Snowdonia. Turn towards Snowdon for impressive mountain views.

When driving north to the Lake District, you’ll need to take the M58 and M6. Lake Windermere is the first lake you’ll pass upon arrival. Stop here to take a boat trip or visit Wray Castle.

Want to visit the iconic northern city of Manchester? Take the M62 and consider a quick detour to Altrincham Market for lunch.
