Stansted Airport pick-up

Once you make your way through to arrivals at London Stansted Airport, you’re just a short transfer away from the Car Rental Village. The shuttle bus leaves the terminal forecourt every ten minutes and, once there, you’ll find the following car hire companies:

  • Alamo: +44 127 921 1729
  • Sixt: +44 207 018 8246
  • Enterprise: +44 127 921 1729
  • Hertz: +44 843 309 3071
  • Avis: +44 844 544 6027
  • Budget: +44 344 544 9059
  • Europcar: +44 371 384 3419

The car rental desks are open daily. Most operate at similar times with a little variation. For instance, Hertz is open daily from 6.30am to 11.30pm, while Enterprise is open 7am to 10pm on Monday to Friday, and 8am to 8pm on the weekends.

Some agencies, like Alamo and Sixt, also offer after-hours returns. Just ask where you need to park your rental and drop off your keys.

Once you’re in your hire car, you’re close to the M11, which leads north to Cambridge or south towards the M25 and London.

For a countryside escape, continue from Cambridge on the A14 to the market town of Bury St Edmunds, approximately an hour from Stansted. This route, or the A12, will also take you to sandy beaches at Southwold and Walberswick or to coastal culture in Aldeburgh.

If you’re in the mood for a city break, Norwich, Colchester and London are all within easy reach. For the capital, consider parking at Westfield Stratford City and hopping on the tube to explore central London.
